The Ways of the Lenape (Grades
1-12)
Long before William Penn founded our
home state, three clans of the Lenni Len'ape Nation lived in
Pennsylvania and New Jersey: the Lenape/Minisink, Iroquois and Shawnee.
This program demonstrates the cultures and customs of these tribes
during pre-colonized times, including the tools, clothing, toys, games,
medicine and music that were part of their daily lives. Audience Limit: 250
Native Life in Five Regions
(Grades 2-5)
This program emphasizes how
geography and natural resources affect the development of physical
cultures and lifestyles of Native Americans from five regions across
the U.S. Tools, songs, art, clothing and musical instruments from each
of the five regions are compared. Audience

WORKSHOP - Focus on Music and
Dance (Grades K-8)
This interactive workshop invites
students to learn authentic songs and dances from various tribal
nations. Dances include Crow Hop, Round Dance and Stomp Dance. The
animal songs and lullabies students will learn emphasize how music
reflects the life and cultures of all people. Classroom Limit: 25
Workshop - Plants, Stones, Skins
and Bones (Grades K-2)
Students will learn about the
physical culture of Eastern Woodlands People before colonial contact.
They are asked what their lives would be like if they lived 500 years
ago - before the Internet, electricity and Walmart. They will see skin
clothing, bone and stone tools, clay pottery, baskets and stone corn
grinding tools. Clssroom Limit: 30
