Native American Ecology
Rob's residency begins with an overview that familiarizes students with
core information about the Lenape and other Native Nations they are
studying. Students learn the philosophies and practices inherent to the
balance of daily living and nature in Native American cultures.
Students use natural materials to make cordage (string) from plant
fibers and then make rope, children's toys and dolls. Rob has studied
and taught pre-colonial Native American culture for 25 years. He
regularly visits and lives with Native Peoples from New England to
California, serving as Master of Ceremonies at pow-wows and making
presentations at historical and cultural museums.
