Partner Dancing through the Ages

Crazy Rhythm, Fancy Feet celebrate America’s diverse partner dance heritage. Students experience a unique lesson in history through dance routines that span the 20th century. The versatile dance team of Bob Butryn and Eva Brothers perform various partner dance styles in period dress, including Swing, Salsa, Charleston and disco. Students learn how these dances reflected, and continue to reflect American culture.

WORKSHOP
Partner dancing develops rhythm and creativity. It also gives students the opportunity to work closely with one another to accomplish a common goal. In this workshop, students learn the basics of one style of partner dancing while experiencing the thrill of communicating creative ideas through the lead-follow technique of the dances.

Grade 5-12

$315 per workshop following performance


RESIDENCY
This in-depth study of partner dance styles explores the history of the dances, clothing and step variations. Students learn the basic steps of partner dancing such as Charleston, Swing, Salsa and disco. Schools work with artists in designing and shaping the goals of this residency based on budget and number of participating students.
