Appalachian Clogging

FiddleKicks brings Appalachian clogging, banjo and fiddle playing to life with historical costumes and live music. The percussive dance form evolved in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, emerging from a melting pot of influences: Celtic, African and Cherokee to form a distinct American form of folk art.

Workshop: Learn to Clog! (One dancer /1 musician)
Students learn the basics of Appalachian clogging, including historical perspective and footwork. Movements are then incorporated into a short dance routine performed by students.
