This ensemble fuses live music,
comedy, singing and an array of step dancing, clogging, African boot
dancing, early jazz tap and hamboning. These various styles of dance
from Ireland, South Africa, Canada and the American south are
celebrated as examples of the diversity of dance forms brought to
America from our ancestors. Students join in and learn traditional
dance steps as well as some original choreography. Members of Footworks
have performed at the White House and Lincoln Center, on The Today
Show, and at numerous dance festivals around the country, including
Riverdance.
