The traditional dances of Egypt and North Africa reflect
many daily aspects of village life, from gathering water to wedding
celebrations. In this performance, 5 dancers from Habiba demonstrate
the dance, movement and character of the Fellahin, Bedouin and Nubian
peoples from Egypt and the Berbers and Andalusian Arabs from North
Africa. Students will also learn about Egyptian history, climate and
agriculture, as well as some basic Arabic phrases.
