Spontaneous Composition - Jazz
Beginning with an introduction to the history of jazz, Tamer plays and performs several standards and introduces the essential elements of improvisation and spontaneous composition. For students with previous musical training, this residency culminates with a performance of free style improvisation on their own instruments or those provided by the school.

Digital Recording & Improvisation: "Students record their own CD"
Students work within different musical genres including rap, pop, instrumental or free jazz to create an expressive work using their new improvisational skills. The residency ends with an introduction to modern digital recording equipment. Students record, mix and burn their new compositions to CD's to share with classmates and parents.
