Storytelling Sessions
This residency works with students to develop their imagination and
literary, listening and problem-solving skills. Students learn the
basics of storytelling and create their own stories through voice,
movement and theatre games. The process of creating character-driven
dialogue is taught through improvisation techniques, such as Whisper
Down the Lane, a game that develops a student's personal list of good
storytelling strategies. With mime games, Vicky teaches ways of
incorporating movement into storytelling. In addition to Vicky's work
in the classroom, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Performing Arts
on Tour roster and teaches storytelling to educators, librarians and at
workshops within the corporate sector.
