Ukranian Dance
Ukrainian folk dances developed
dramaturgically from ancient times, when it was once considered a means
of communicating with the divine forces of nature. Combining energetic
moves, costumes and traditional Ukrainian dance forms, Voloshky brings
to the stage an exciting blend of art and technique in presenting folk
dances from the Ukraine, reflecting the history, culture, every day
life and work of its people.

Workshop: Ukrainian Dance &
Movement
Students explore how a combination
of classical ballet and Ukrainian character dancing create an authentic
and athletic art form. Students learn how dancers work together to
create a dance that tells a story without words. Aspects of Ukrainian
culture are incorporated and students learn relevant Ukrainian
vocabulary.
