Folktales and Music

This program blends folktales and contemporary stories with piano music. From the chirping of birds in the forest to the creaking of an old door, Lou transports students into the world of imaginative storytelling using the piano, sound effects and audience participation.

Students learn storytelling techniques and use their imagination to write stories to musical accompaniment.

RESIDENCY: Folktales and Music
Students work as a team to create stories based on real life experiences. They create original sound effects and accompaniments on musical instruments that reflect the content and mood of the stories. Students learn techniques that enhance their storytelling abilities, including voice projection, proper use of microphones and stage presence.
